Every White Settlement ISD school was recently recognized as a Common Sense Media Campus.
To earn the designation, the schools must ensure that students become safe, responsible technology users. Students participate in a variety of lesson modules including communication, privacy, cyberbullying, internet searches, citing internet sources and more.
All elementary schools and Tannahill Intermediate initially earned the designation in 2018, Brewer Middle School became a Common Sense Media Campus in 2019, and Brewer High is now a Common Sense Media Campus. Schools and the district must fulfill requirements annually.
The recognition acknowledges the schools' commitment to creating a culture of digital citizenship.
"By preparing our students to use technology safely and responsibly, we are providing them with an opportunity to build lifelong habits to help them succeed in a tech-driven world," said Superintendent Frank Molinar
