WSISD Employees Attend Avoid Deny Defend Active Threat Training

As part of White Settlement ISD's efforts to enhance safety in the district, staff members recently attended Avoid Deny Defend (ADD) Training on Oct. 5.

ADD outlines a three-step plan for survival in the event of an active shooter event or other public acts of violence.

WSISD implemented a variety of new safety measures throughout the district to enhance security this year.

WSISD expanded its safety program to include the Standard Response Protocol (SRP).

The SRP is based on four actions: Lockout, Lockdown, Evacuate and Shelter. SRP provides a common language for both schools and local law enforcement agencies.

"We believe it's crucial that we're proactive and that we implement the latest safety measures including the SRP, Avoid Deny Defend and gun powder residue sniffing dogs to keep our kids safe," said Superintendent Frank Molinar.
