Tannahill and Fine Arts Academy Students Win 7 of 10 Awards at TWU's Edible Car Contest

Nineteen teams of sixth grade GLO students from Tannahill Intermediate and the Fine Arts Academy competed in the 21st Annual Texas Woman's University Edible Car Contest. White Settlement ISD teams won seven of the 10 awards out of 99 teams competing. 

Tannahill's Tropicans team of Ella Newsome, Brennan Maitlin, Caden Cato andMiguel Carrera won First Place Overall.

The  Gummy Warriors (Deisy Rodriguez, Marci Longoria Silva, Anthony Herrera and Vincent McCormick from Tannahill) earned Most Unique.

During the competition, students work in teams of four to create a “car” out of food that is edible for humans, ensuring that the wheels can roll down a ramp. The cars are judged in several categories, including ingenuity, mobility and design.
