Tannahill Parent & Family Engagement Policy
Title 1
Tannahill Intermediate School will develop a parent involvement plan centered around four critical involvement strategies:

Provide a variety of school activities.

Support and engage learning activities that parents can participate in school and at home.

Provide training to Tannahill staff to strengthen the home/school partnership.

Communicate frequently with families.

We will encourage parents/guardians to be involved in the development of the use of Title 1 funds, in planning activities, offering suggestions and asking questions regarding policies and programs.

We will invite families to a school meeting to which all attending will be informed of the school’s participation in the Title I program and the parents’ right to be involved.

We will engage parents/guardians in the planning, review, and improvement of Tannahill’s Title I program by sending home electronic surveys asking for rates, suggestions and discussions to help improve.

We will help parents play an integral role in assisting student learning by:

Supplying families with websites that offer school tips at home.

Providing textbooks to take home to assist in learning.

After school conferences to help assist families.

We will ensure that parents/guardians and staff work as a team to improve student achievement and better the communication by use of, School website, Skylert, School Status and Social Media.

We will provide responses to family suggestions in a timely manner.

We will coordinate, provide technical assistance, and other support necessary to assist families in actively partingpin in the planning and implementation of Tannahill’s parent involvement program.
